Many underestimate the problems that can occur with the addition of startup or logon scripts in Active Directory.
Suppose we have created a Group Policy and want to start with it a batch file. The batch file is located on a network drive the company to which the employee has access, of course. This should be a standard case for a company.
Now it is quite likely that the batch file is executed even though the GPO is created and activated.
The following solutions should examine their essential:
I) The most important settings when scripts access to network drives or Web addresses, which is often the case. If activated, it causes the script to wait on the availability of the network and run until then.
II) Many experts advise to enable this option, but only if I) is also activated. This determines whether the explorer.exe is waiting until all the scripts are running, or whether both start simultaneously. The function belongs to the Windows function to improve the application performance, as this saves time.
III), the program is really there and can start it? This herauskopieren simply get out of the adjustment report (as in the screenshot) the path and the parameters and test it in a CMD. If everything is running correctly then this item is checked off. If not then check the path, parameters, rights, available network drive, or possible errors in the Event Viewer.
IV) for scripts that work with the CMD, ie, uA. Cmd or bat. It may be helpful to this choice to disable them to create, as access to the console in any case.
V) Same situation as II)
If the tips have not been helped other settings that are frequently recommended:
VI) The waiting time of the script to a number of seconds 0-10 is limited to a few scripts helping hand.
VII) to run the scripts can save you headaches visible but also create. For often scripts are not really appropriate, even though they are running. But maybe it helps yes ![]()
